HOME AND PERIMETER SECURITY
*Do you leave house keys hidden outside the home?
Do you close the garage door as soon as you get home?
Are your entrance doors solid core and strong enough to withstand excessive force?
Are the strike plates and frames strong enough to withstand excessive force?
Do your door frames fit snuggly around your exterior door?
Are all outside doors equipped with double cylinder deadbolt locks with at least 1 and 1/2”throw?
Is there a wide-angle viewer (peep hole) at your front and back door?
Can the peep hole be viewed by the children?
Do you lock the door going from the garage to the house?
Do your windows lock properly, without excessive play or tightness?
Do you have additional locks on your sliding windows?
Do you make sure all the windows are locked when you leave the home?
Have you pinned your sliding glass door?
Are all the hinges on the inside of all exterior doors?
Do you regularly walk around (outside) your home looking for opportunities a burglar might use?
Do you keep all your hedges, bushes and trees trimmed so that they can’t hide a burglar at work?
Do you have adequate lighting outside your home, without creating shadows?
Do you use automatic timers on lights, TV’s and radios in your home?
